Most People ...

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation. - Oscar Wilde

Form Over Substance

The loudest one in the room thinks that they've won.

But, Empty vessels make the loudest sound,
have the least wit and are the greatest blabbers.

  1. Trust no one, but yourself.
  2. Just because no one lists your flaws, doesn't mean you don't have any.
  3. Never make mountains out of molehills.
  4. When your complaining, and i'm silent and hearing, it probably means i don't agree. (Refer to point 2). But i'm gonna let you finish anyway. Cos, "What ever makes you happy."
  5. Fact VS Opinion. But its not always the truth that wins, wonderful speakers make wonderful stories. And everyone loves a good entertainer.

Its been such a long time since i've blogged. So many things have happened. It going to be six months overseas. Just a few more days. In this short time, i have learnt many things and has many new experiences.

Had my family over in Brunei for a weekend getaway. It was a really wonderful time.Went out to new places. Brought my nieces swimming. Visited a Hindu temple in Seria. Saw a bunch of nodding donkeys.

And then, an unexpected trip back to Singapore. My granddad had passed on. The first funeral in about 13 years. So many things i did not known. So many traditions. In all, many thanks to my mom's siblings for all the help.

This trip was the first time i did not even think about JAC. I guess, i didn't have the time for it. The 8 day prayer went by and it was time for me to get back to this distant island. Before that, i dragged everyone for a quick trip to town for my grandma. Just to show her around. ION... Lau Pasat... Merlion... Too many things popped up in my mind. The fear, that death isn't something that people just talk about and my grandma is not getting any younger.

My life after army. My family. My Sister. The Company. So many things.

I didn't even have the time to meet up with everyone. Only met up with my best buddies. And also managed to drop by the office just hours before my flight.
Back in Brunei. Things are just the same. Well, some things never change.

As Above, So Below

Once Again

Its been a while. But somethings just never change, as somethings always do.

Home feels different...

I have to deal with a snoring pig in my room. I can't even get a good nights sleep... even at home. My room; its simply a mess.

Its bloody noisy.

A Post, After A Long Time

I haven't been too free to update my blog. In fact, i'm in a hurry now too. haha.

Last night, i was supposed to go to the temple to see my cousz. Unfortunately, i overslept. The alarm didn't help me wake up.

And i woke up at 5.30am!!!! Lolx.

Green

And so, i am the guy in green. Enlisted on the 03 12 08.

Life has changed so much. SO much i would wish to say, but can't. (Restrictions... i'd rather not try. Why ask for unnecessary trouble. haha)

Anyways, i'm back home now. My second book-out! Wee!

Evo - lution

We will act consistently with our views of who we truly are, whether that view is accurate or not..

Life has been wonderful. What more can i ask? ALOT.

Anyway, the latest festive season was great.. Deepavali, and i still have some visiting left to do. The gathering at my place was great. Except for the fact that i underestimated the space needed for it. It was great to c all of them... its been ages since i've seen most of them.

This few days have been very exciting. The workload seems to be building up. Its less than a month till my enlistment, and there is still sooooo much to be done. Only then can i leave for tekong with a peace of mind. My greatest concern: my rice-bowl, my family.

I am in need of a holiday too. Where to go? Genting/Batam(Bat-man, i know, its random).?

I am solo damn bored now. Have just sent my bro-in-law at TTSH. Waiting at the kopitiam, after a hard day of work. Work which happened to involve: a bus. Soap. And lots of water.

Sigh.

Up North

A short trip to KL...

DAY 1
Got up early in the morning on Friday, the eve of my B'day. Got the stuff loaded onto the car and left for the causeway. After a breakfast stop... the fun began. I reached the highway. 110km/h is legal. Weehee. A few minutes into the drive i realised that driving in the NS Highway is soo different. Its mostly 2 lanes. And cars on the first lane travel up to about 200km/h. yes. that is shocking. The car appears in the rear view mirror, and the next you know. Its on your tail, forcing you to give way.

So after about 2 hours... reached Ayer Keroh R&R. I sooo wanted to get my hand on the yummy root beer float from A&W. To my horror, the A&W there was closed for upgrading. Ahhhh.

After a while more of driving, reached KL, and got into their SMART Tunnel. its great, cos i hate the heavy traffic.

The hotel check-in process was crapy. We got a room key for the suite... only to get to the suite and realise that it is still occupied by people. It was 3pm, and the checkout time is 1pm latest. WTF. the people in the room just didn't seem to care. And guess wat, the room opposite it was sealed off. Like all the edges of the door and card-key access was sealed with tape. Freaky. I started to wonder. Perhaps it was a crime scene. Someone died there? So the obvious happened. We made a huge fuss and got another room.

The room is not too bad. It has a total of 2 bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen, and 3 bathrooms. With huge windows all around, providing a magnificent view. Suites.

DAY 2
Clock strikes 12mn, i was busy sleeping. My family decides to wake me. Surprise. And there were fireworks too.. arnd the KLCC area. Uber cool. (fireworks were for the merdeka eve celebrations i guess.) After the cake cutting... food arrives to the room. A wonderful spread. But its like 12mn...

After a good sleep, got up early to get to Genting. This time, my dad drove. Genting was, as always, cool. After i while in the theme parks and having lunch, left Genting to visit the National Zoo. It is soo interesting. It was traveling back in time. - Visualize the Singapore Zoo 10 years ago.

DAY 3
My bro-in-law drives to Ipoh area... for some hot spring. Cool. I mean hot! Dinner was at Planet Hollywood! The food was really good, and the portions was just a bit too much.  A trip to Zouk followed. Valvet underground called.... and my entire family went. lolx. yes, my entire family.

DAY 4
I drive back to Singapore. This time i felt *experienced*. Visibility was bad up to Ayer Keroh area, as it was raining heavily. After that, the road was wonderful. So it was 160km/h. wee hee. The car was superb. Not a pinch of vibration. Really smooth ride. Only a few cars overtook me/forced me out of the first lane, like a BMW M3, Merc SLK, Merc C-class...

FIFTY K/M

It been such a long time since i've gone to PS. First time to drive to town in the day. ERP. ERP. ERP. a total of about $3, just to get from CTE to Park Mall. omg.

Anyways.. was supposed to have dinner at Park Mall. Unfortunately, we last minute decide to go to Central. ka-ching. $2 for parking at Park Mall. and $3+ for parking at Central.

And so i have realized that driving cost alot.

Music in my car

I finally go it. An FM transmitter for my iPod - TuneBase. So far so good. I finally get to listen to more songs when i want to, instead of being limited to about 20 CDs that fit in the CD player. I can now choose from over 2,700+ songs. Haha. I can't wait to go on a road trip...

What a Day.

Its a Public Holiday eve. Woo Hoo. Got to go home early today... Only to hear that my best bud has turned on the PMS button. and so we had to meet... ice cream at Ben & Jerry's Dempsey. Its totally unlike all the other outlets. After a long talk... went back to my place at decide on what to do next. After another round of debate, decided to go AMK and pick Sebas... so we can go for dinner at Sentosa.

And OMG... i had no idea that must pay using the ERP thing. ahhh! and i still to have to pay for carpark as well. Its been sometime since i went to sentosa. the place is in a "we are upgrading to serve you better" state. And what was more shocking was the Siloso beach was deserted. totally empty, except for about 5 other ppl or so.  Maybe its the Seventh Month, that why... maybe.

Anyways, after hunting down Subway to have "dinner"... we took a long walk to get back to the carpark. After which, was a short ride out to Mount Faber. Stopped to visit the Henderson Waves and some other lookout point.

And after all that..... surprise. We went for dinner, part 2, at Lau Pa Sat. The satay at stall 7/8 is really nice. Yummy. It was worth the time trying to find a parking lot...( and it was parallel parking , how i hate that ).

All in all, its been a great day. Hoping for more great days to come. And hoping that people wont be so attention seeking... as it totally annoys me. - how i hate Itchy Bitchy -

Annoyed

I felt it recently... the feeling of being "used". Perhaps i am too good and giving, that i am taken advantage of. I learnt that everything is not as it seems.

Besides that reality check... life is great. I'm less than one month away from completing my Dip. in Biz Management. Soon to collect my Dip. in Mass Comm. Hopefully to start on the degree soon.

I've got to train for NS... yeap yeap. Finally decided to do so, as my couz gets enlisted today.

Another Day.

Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on.

And so, its a Sunday. Drove to the Little India district for some "shopping". It was interesting. The people have no sense of safety and public order. They simply walk on the middle of the road. OMG. A good experience.

I have been wanting to get a tattoo for some time now.. yea, its long overdue. I am hoping that next weekend would be it. A jap-based tribal phoenix? Perhaps.

Parallel?

Lots have happened over the weekend. Firstly, i passed. Phew.

Later Saturday evening.. left for the pilgrimage. The bus journey was horrible. It was really noisy and bumpy. Worst of all... i think the bus didn't even reach 100km/h. It was just slow. And so we missed the 5.30+am prayers. The temples are really nice.. Had a good experience.

I finally had the time to go SP and meet Zai. - the things people have to do- and yes. it was worth the time to see his expression. haha. it was like "omg". haha.]

Anyways.. cant wait for the weekend for the "prata tour".

G.S.S.

Shopping is the activity of selection and/or purchase. And i just wanted to get some stuff. Some shirts. A bag. and some other stuff.

After quite some time, i met Zai yesterday. And so we walked around alot. From MS to Bugis and then to PS. phew. I realised that all the nice clothes generally come in/look better in small sizes. And so i have to do justice. (And this reminds me of the "Spartan bod" deal).

We eventually ended up in Best Denki. Where someone just couldn't keep his thoughts to himself. and so the saleperson asks. "you want a ball shaver?", sounding like a typical salesperson. LOL-moment.

Anyways. today and the day after are going to be very interesting. Hope to update on it shortly.

Renaissance

And so, i am trying to restore this blog. A collection of my best and worst memories ... So that i can look back at it years from now and wonder. Then comes the question, "am i actually going to put stuff down the way it is".

Definitely not. I shall not lie, but i shall not tell the truth.
(something i learnt from someone really close to my heart)

This week has been really interesting. Work has been fun as usual, but the exams are making me think. I would soo love to get an A. With a host of activities lined for the week... i hope to stay calm and be at my best.

And i am looking forward to:
A new tattoo, hosting gatherings, a holiday and  a new phone (not an iPhone) - the list actually goes on and on.
